Connecting Relay to ChatGPT or Codex
Relay uses OAuth. Sign in to your Relay account, review the requested email permission, and approve the connection. If authorization fails, disconnect Relay in the client and connect it again. A temporary Relay error can usually be retried without copying answers or internal IDs.
Tool availability depends on the client surface. Relay is currently validated in ordinary ChatGPT Chat with a connected Developer Mode integration; some other surfaces may not mount connected tools.
AI providers and private history
Relay sends only the content needed for the requested action to the disclosed providers: Kimi for independent answers, OpenAI when Relay must generate the ChatGPT side of a Battle, and Google Gemini only for an explicit comparison. Connected-client results are saved to the signed-in owner’s private Relay history unless that owner separately chooses to publish content on Relay.
